New York Flights
A trip to New York can be the holiday of a lifetime, no matter where you’re from. Whether you’re staying in one of the famous New York Hotels like the Hilton or Four Seasons or something a little less low-key, New York is one of the world’s most exciting cities.
Moneysupermarket.com says “Flights to New York bring you to an extraordinary city that probably cannot adequately be enjoyed in any one visit. With landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square and the Empire State Building, New York is a fantastic destination at any time of year.” Of course, that’s no reason why a flight to New York has to cost the earth though, and by following a few of the tips below, you can save a packet on New York Flights:
Be as flexible as possible with your travelling dates
Quite often, if you can allow a few days leniency when booking your flight dates then you can decrease your fare dramatically- sometimes even one day can make a huge difference. Of course, if you’re staying in a hotel you will have to make sure the cost of the extra night does not void the saving on your flights, but if staying with family or friends, this can be a great money saver.
Book at least two weeks in advance, more if possible
This is especially true when flying internationally. Quite often if you book flights as soon as they are made available they will cost a good deal less, whereas flights booked within a week of the flight date can often cost up to double what they were originally available for.
If possible, fly mid week
Because most people fly on the weekends, prices are higher than they are in the week. Flying on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday can often save you a noticeable amount of cash than flying on a Friday or Saturday.
Consider flying into nearby airports
Flying into Newark airport in New Jersey can actually work out cheaper than flying into New York. Newark is only 20 minutes away from the centre of the city, and can save you a great deal of money.
Try to avoid ‘busy’ dates
Many people travel the day before Thanksgiving Day, and as a result, flights are at their most expensive. However, on the day itself, many New York Flights are cheaper as far fewer people fly that day.
Shop round
There are now so many budget airlines operating all over the world, it can be hard to know whether you have got the best deal or not without using a comparison service. Moneysupermarket compares flights from a huge number of different providers, saving you both time and money that you can use to start enjoying your holiday with!
